iOs 4.1 jailbreak is out .....

One day before of time while working very quietly there is a new jailbreak for iOS 4.1  - thanks to Geot
This break is coming one day before the break that should be released today buy other people named TheDevTeam.
Note: This only allows you to install apps from various places and not only from AppStore, this doesn't open your iDevice to sim free.

This break is working on the following devices for now (its not a one click break - as opposed to previous  jailbreakme.com hack)
iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 and will also jailbreak iPod Touch 3G & 4G

Check out the manual here (you can also see comments on people that already tried it)

Google goggles is now available for iPhone

Hi,
Seems everyone is having fun using the new application from google on their iPhone (its up and running on Android for 11 months already).
The application (that can be downloaded on AppStore for free) is named google goggles and it let you do a online search by taking a photo of the object you want to get more information on.
The tool is very easy to use , as you can see in the movie, and I am sure the database will growth from minute to minute , so it will be a real nice addition to the way we can learn...

The application can run only on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 - as this are the iDevices that have a camera with auto-focus feature.
The iPhone must run iOS 4.x.
Based on google, it works well for things such as landmarks, logos, and the covers of books, DVDs and games. However, it doesn't yet work for some things as animals, plants or food.

The application is really fun to use, I have been using it on my other cell phone that is running android for couple of weeks now.

More info can be found here

Using your iPhone to make free calls

Hello All,
Well the holidays in Israel are over and we are back to business - at least for the coming 2 months or so.
I just came across a detailed and very good post (that is updating all the time) with couple of options out there that let you use your iPhone and make free calls (SIP clients, different VOIP applications and alike).

I really liked the article and the information provided - it even explains how to use the different applications.
The latest update is about using Google Voice (also for Israeli people)

http://wwwh.virtualida.com/2010/09/blog-post_25.html   (The article is in Hebrew)

I really recommend checking this out and giving a try to couple of this blogger suggestions.
I am sure this can save you couple of $ after you finish reading this.

First iPhone Israeli event

Hi all,
I just got an invite to a free first iPhone Israeli event that will take place in Ra'anana in Amdocs area.
The event will be running between 6-7 October.
This is happening in parallel to the release of iPhone 4 in Israel - happening today the 24 Sep. 2010.
I assume till the event will start there will already be feedbacks on the new iPhone (specially about the problems that have been published worldwide - cell receptions , problems taking pictures and alike)

In the event you can hear lot of lectures on a varied topics for developers, regular users and power users.
I am sure you will also love to share ideas and favourite programs and tools you use.
To register and find more details on the event you can find here
