I just came across couple of articles talking about possible solutions to "fix" the slowness problem that you might have in case you have iPhone 3G and you are running OS 4 (I already posted a funny movie in a previous post about the slowness problem)

If still this possible solutions didn't help you can downgrade to OS 3.1.3 or u wait for other fix.
